Ophélie Gaillard - cello - and Edna Stern - piano - They have combined their talents to present the essence of Chopin's music for cello and piano. The originality of this recording lies not only in the meeting of these 2 personalities, but also in the choice of instruments. They play a period reconstruction: a gut-mounted cello and the 1843 Pleyel piano that Chopin would have played (restored by Fadini). The choice of these instruments turns conventional wisdom on its head: new colors emerge at every moment of the score, creating balance, new poetry and astonishing depth.
